1989 F150 Singel tank - no power to tank fuel pump

Asked by Ktulu73 Nov 28, 2019 at 04:47 PM about the 1989 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Standard Cab 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1988 F150 single tank (no tank selector), I've got no power to the tank pump.
Fuel gauge is reading over full. High pressure pump has power and is working.
I've replaced the sending unit, the pump relay, checked all fusible links,
checked continuity to the power and ground to the tank pump. Inertia switch is
removed and jumpered. Seems like my truck is rare witha . single tank...just
need to determine where to look next. Any insight would be appreciated.

You are right, a single fuel tank on this series of trucks I have never seen. Seems like you have done a good job of trouble shooting so far. Not sure at this point if I can help you. I have now and have owned several of them from years 1987 to 1996 and they have all had dual tanks, which can turn out to be complicated to work on. Twice in the past I had to throw up my hands and take one to a garage/Ford Dealer and they were always able to get things working again. Good luck!
