I've replaced the alternator and voltage regulator, but my 85 f-150 is still not charging. Can anyone tell me how to fix my problem. please.

i put on a new alternator and new voltage regulator. I can jump the truck and it runs fine, but when I disconnect the hot post it cuts off.

Possibly a fusable link in the charging system blown? You'll have to use a volt-ohm meter to check for continuety in the wires that run from the battery to the alternator.

Also as stated by Tom, a dead or internally shorted out battery will cause this too. Any fuel injected vehicle will not run with the battery disconnected.

replaced the battery also, and it is carburator not fuel inj. sorry that I did not think about list these things also.
