After market keyless entry

Asked by Esteem_1900 Mar 11, 2017 at 10:03 AM about the 1989 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We installed an aftermarket keyless entry 17 years ago and it worked fine
until two years ago.  Then once the door was unlocked and the engine
started, we started getting locked out if we stepped outside the truck with
the door closed.  We took the truck back to Best Buy (who installed the first
remote entry) thinking the older system was bad - and purchased a new
Viper keyless entry system.  Now, if we get out of the truck with the motor
running and close the door (i.e. to go inside) the door automatically locks
us out again.

Any suggestions?

Seems like the programming is off and needs to be reset, I would bring it back and have it looked over...
