Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving down the road stop at stop sign and my pickup started to sputter and backfire. Then died. I thought I was out of gas. Got gas and turned her over dead  Towed her home. I charged the battery full up, changed the terminal cables and ends secured connections  fuel in tank  fuel going into carb  inline fuel filter clear, cranks strong fires but no start. Where do I go next

I'd start with pulling the distributor cap and checking the points for proper gap. I once had a set vibrate loose and close up. In a pinch I used to matchbook cover as a thickness gauge and managed to get home. :)

Ford started using Dura spark ignitions in 1973. I have a 1972 F-250 I put new breaker points in/rotor/condenser. I am now putting in new plugs. I hope she will start after this but I will let you know one way or the other thank you for your help. Any other ideas you might share are greatly appreciated.
