No brake pressure

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 1975 F250. I always wanted an old Ford
and this is my first one. I do know a little about cars but
am by no means a mechanic. The friend that I bought it
from said that the brakes needed to bled in order to drive
it home. I had another friend help me bleed the brakes
and we bled each side about 3-4 times. Yet I am still
getting no brake pressure until the 2nd or 3rd pump. (1st
time goes straight to the floor) Any advice would be
appreciated, like I said.... just learning. Thanks!

Could be a bad master cylinder, bleed that first. Second would be to inspect the system for leaks. Bleed the system starting at the longest line. I do agree with Tom, it is a safety issue so please do not drive it until you get the brakes in working order.

If it has drum brakes in the back a little wear can eat up a lot of pedal , you would think adjusting them would help but there are times it won't , you'd be surprised

No I definitely won’t be driving it until the brake issue is taken care of. I was also thinking that the master cylinder may need to be bled/replaces. I will start there before taking it to the shop. Thanks for the help so far!
