My 1985 ford ranger has a 2.8 engine when u first start it smokes. See little smoke once in awhile especially as u are slowing down or stopping valves are noisy to. Anyone got any ideas oil pressure is good

your valve guides and seals are fucked, cuz oil leaks down onto the top of the piston, or it's just running rich and when you let off the gas it just starves the charge that's in the cylinders of air, my 2.3l has that problem i think

ur telling me that being set to rich will cause it to smoke
you just might need new piston rings how many kms or miles does the truck have?
