try changing the throttle position scensor.
alright thanks a lot, got any little tips on a how-to?
OK,take off your air cleaner,is on throtle body ,is black plastic, round with a tail unplug connector is 2 torxs scwers remove them take out old tps put new one in.is a 5 min job,you cant miss it,is really the onley thing that is on side of tb.good luck.
thank you very much! very helpful will try and get it done soon. when i get some spare time.
if that doesent work u could also check your idle air sensor.ive changed a few during the years an my other trucks and they had the same symtoms u descibed.sometimes cleaning the idle air sensor fixes the problem for a while.its a cheap way of checking your idle air sensor.
you may also want to check for vacume leaks, the hoses are rubber and crack and split open, also check gasket under the throttle body.
