1983 honda civic automatic,what is the average life expectantly of the engine(1.5L) and trans under normal driving conditions

ive seen em go to over 200,000 miles,, my sones got one with 190,000 an still going strong........ seen many of the hondas rust compleatly out an the motor still strong.
As kirksss said ...mechanically as long as you keep it well maintained it will go on for miles, unfortunately you may want to buy a mig welder at the same time. Corrosion issues all over with these.
That little 1.5L will roll over the odometer if maintained well. The transmission on the other hand, if it was stick, would last as long as the motor. The automatic, well, it's 30 years old... If it's the original tranny, you're one of the lucky ones.
