The ABS pump is a few hundred dollars, to replace it with labor should be about $1,000.00, I think he is high on the price. What I dont understand the gauges stopped working and A/C has nothing to do with part he is replacing. Is he fixing these as well?
Here's the thing about dealers or any other garage, NEVER TRUST THEM! Ask to see a print out of the error codes. If the pump is bad, there should be a code. I just did some research and found that a common problem which is causing your issues is a faulty ABS module that leaks brake fluid onto a circuit board and shorts it out. This is what's causing your multiple electrical failures. For a quick test, unplug your ABS module. With it unplugged, you should get your A/C back and possibly your gauges. If you get components back, odds are it's a bad ABS module. I also discovered that there are a couple of ECU cables that run under the ABS module. If those become overly dirty or damaged, that can also cause a communication problem between your ABS and computer. If you have someone that knows their way around a car, I would have them locate the ABS module and unplug it. If things start working again, there's your issue. If you want to save money, I would try a salvage yard ABS module or order one from Ebay. Post back with results. This is a popular problem which needs some definitive answers. Hope this helps!
