Strange clicking instead of starting

Asked by Travis Feb 10, 2016 at 07:06 PM about the 2003 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After a recent spark plug change, we can't start the truck.  If we turn the
key, sometimes we get power to show, and then it doesn't even try to turn
over.  At that point all power goes out.  Then we hear a clicking sound.
The clicking sound will persist after the key is removed.

Any ideas?
