Asked by Cox96 Aug 25, 2017 at 10:49 PM about the 2001 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck won't start it just clicks but the
lights come on just fine.  Earlier today
jumped it and started right up.  Then
happened again tonight tried to jump it
lights got brighter but still would only make
clicking noises.  Literally just bought the
truck from a dealership two weeks ago.

Check the voltage in the battery with a multimeter, should be about 12.4 volts. Voltage good, check connections at battery and starter for corrosion, clean terminals and studs and reconnect.
