The 60 is the profile aka aspect ratio. or % of width. A 215/60R16 has a sidewall of 129mm. Or 5.08" Overall diameter 664mm or 26.16 inches The 31/10.50 -15 does ."not compute"
If I play with the numbers, using 31 as diameter that's 787.4.mm overall diameter compared to the 664mm on the 215/60-16
the 31x10.50 16 is a 31in tall tire thats 10.5 in wide and its on a 15in wheel. is the 215/60 16, 31in tall or taller? on my 93 f-150 32in is as big as i can go without a lift a 33in tall tire hits bottem corners when turning. 32in is aspecial order so i go with the 31in. i wanna go to 16in rims cuz tires are cheaper. 31s arent cheap, sorta special order.
The 10.5 is 266.7mm wide, but I don't have a profile to give you a sidewall height
The 215/60R16 is 26.16 inches in diameter. 4.84 inches smaller than your 31
Keep in mind. Tires labeled like the 31/10.5r15 never actually measure out to be 31 inches. Most I've had are around 29 or 30 inches. Same for just about any other tire size that way. My 35's were actually 33.75 inches tall...
