1990 F150 4 speed

I have a 1990 F150 with 5 speed trans, IN 300. I want to switch to 4 speed. Will the 4 speed bolt up to the 300 ok?

i did that trans swap,it will bolt on,mine was a 4x4,i used the transfer case of the 5 speed and front drive shaft aslo fit.the rear drive shaft wont fit,the 4 speed is shorter so u need a longer drive shaft for the rear,what i did was cut a longer drive shaft to fit.you will need to use the slave cylindre from the 4 speed.the second time i did that swap i had a donnor truck and everything fit,it was a lot easyer that way. hope this helps.good luck!

yes it will,but going to a 4 speed will affect the gas milage,5th gear is like overdrive in a auto.trans.
