Battery light flashes
Asked by Stevesdad Dec 29, 2016 at 05:20 AM about the 2006 Toyota RAV4
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The battery light flickers , and
then the vsc, check engine, 4wd
and air bag lights came on and
lost power steering, after about
two miles of driving I lost all
power and the car died. I had it
towed to the dealer and they
checked it out and found
nothing wrong. After about a
week the same thing happened
everything went dead again

Make sure your battery is good and you have 12 volts, your alternator may not be charging. I will bring the car to AutoZone and have them do a load test on the battery and have them check the charging system, this will be done for free, saving you money.
In addition to what my friend joemom posted...check all the electrical connections at the battery as well as the starter. A loose or corroded connection can cause these strange electrical symptoms.
I had the same problems and discovered a fatigued wire coming off of the positive battery terminal in the wiring harness about 4in away from the battery post. Once I replace that, all has been fine
