No reset button. Make sure the fuel pump is running when you turn the key to the on position. May not have power to the fuel pump.

Checked that and still will not start. How do we check to see if there is spark when it has coil packs

What size engine is this, and are there any spark plug wires or is it coil on plug...

You pull a coil out and put a spark plug on the end of it and lay the spark plug onto something metal, like intake manifold, make sure the plug is touching ground and turn it over watching for spark at the electrode of the spark plug.

You reset the codes with a scanner, but you can still start it without resetting the codes.

You should check with a noid light at the injector connectors to see if there is a voltage pulse. Since you have no codes to go by, this is going to be trial and error. But testing will keep cost to a minimum. One common cause would be the crankshaft sensor. There is a way to test a crankshaft sensor.

How do you check the crank shaft sensor. we do not have a noid light so that is out of question

You take it out, apply 12 V to one side of the terminal and ground on the other side of it. Then it becomes a magnet, so put it against something metal. Its a magnet at this point.
