No back running lights

Asked by Guru1PN7L Sep 21, 2019 at 04:56 PM about the 2006 Buick Rainier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I was having trouble with my 2006 Buick
rainier’s low beams going off and coming back on
with no warning. After some research, I believe I
fixed the problem. But then I had to replace a
brake light bulb in the back, I replaced both sides.
Now at night I have no running lights. Brakes, turn
signals and reverse all work, just no lights while
driving. I’ve checked fuses, what wires or anything
else can I check before getting pulled over? It is
my only vehicle so I don’t have time to be letting it
in a garage to be fixed.

Are you using LED bulbs for the brakes? If so, I know your fix. If not, the fuses for running lights are located under the rear drivers seat, not in engine compartment fuse box. If still no power to socket, you might look at replacing the circuit board itself. The long plastic part that holds all the bulbs, fairly cheap. Early on, there was a recall for these boards, but I believe that's done with.
