I have never seen this type of issue before. As long as you are careful putting the car in gear, I don't see an issue with driving it. You should check all the fuses and relays.

The resistors in the instrument cluster have broken free of the factory soldering. To fix this, you will need to remove and open the cluster to gain access to be able to soldier in new resistors. Your mechanic may be able to do this, or direct you to a shop that can. If you can get help in that manner, there may be some sellers on eBay that will repair the cluster for you if you ship it to them. Beware though, the dash is is covered by a plastic cover that runs its entire width (door to door). I would not recommend driving the vehicle without the instrument panel in place.
