The reservoir is usually connected right to the power steering pump. Just curious tho....how do you know that it needs more fluid?

OK, just add more fluid, however a power steering system is a sealed hydraulic based system that relies on fluid pressure to assist in the movement of internal components...the need to add fluid should be very minimal. You should probably have a qualified mechanic check the system out to find out where the leak is coming from before a small problem turns into a big costly one.
