AC

Asked by Bethel Jul 27, 2011 at 03:23 PM about the 1999 Buick LeSabre

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The AC only works intermittently. It has freon and the compressor was changed recently. Can you please help me find a solution to this problem?

The Thermostat is sticking. Try moving the temp lever to hot and back to cold, and/or turning the knob to defrost and back. If that doesn't work try checking the the vacuum hoses/electrical connections/voltages. Had the same problem myself an a few cars.

Just realized you have a 99, my son's 99 oldsmobile, and my wifes 2000 regal both do the same thing, and it's probably the same control unit, these units are known for going out. But try the other first.
