Sounds possibly the ignition module located under the coil pack. They have a tendency to break down under heat and start back up after cooling down. That would probably be a good place to start. JW

catalytic converter if plugged will stall out car once it heats up

I know this is a late reply, but it could be the fuel filter. Had that happen, the filter is almost clogged, and will only let so much fuel through, when the car is parked, enough fuel goes through to run the car for a while, then it runs out of fuel, or the filter is vapor locking. I would change it first, it cost less than $5, and probably needs to be changed even if its not the problem.

I had 92 Cutlass Supreme Convertable that, after about 30 minutes just cut off. The catalytic converter was choked out...bad. Had it replaced and..no more stallin'.

OK had stall issue 1999 Buick Regal LSE 155k working on coolant leak at elbows on belt tensioner. When re assembling I washed K&M filter with tap water. The water ran out of the filter onto the ECM/PCM after multiple drying attempts and letting sit overnight started & ran fine.
