All warning lights come on for short time

Asked by rddasher Oct 01, 2018 at 07:20 PM about the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2006 PT Cruiser All warning lights come on briefly, speedometer, needle
fluctuates rapidly, engine loses power and does not respond to throttle while
driving at road speed, then everything returns to normal. This has happened
about three times in the last three years. Mileage is only 65k and car is driven
only occasionally. There are no codes in the OBD. Anybody else seen this or
have any idea what is wrong?

I have a 2008 and the same thing happened. I cleaned the battery terminals a few weeks ago and it seems to have taken care of the problem. They were extremely corroded.

I would really like to know what causes this, we have a 2006 as well and this has happened at least 2 times now, latest was yesterday, other time was a couple of years ago.
