Overheated damage car

of course you put your freeze plugs back in and in addition to the maybe 3 gallons of pre dilute coolant you put back in the radiator, right?? The system will feed into the motor, yes, but the freeze plugs you blew gotta be put back in. Am I making sense? Let' r cool down and try again AFTER the fluids are held. good luck
Driving a vehicle after it overheats is never a good idea. Dry all the electrical connections if coolant sprayed all over the engine bay. Change the oil and filter, fix the coolant leak or reason it overheated. Refill with 50/50 antifreeze to water, and hope for the best. You could have caused internal engine damage continuing driving instead of pulling over to the side of the road.

Don't waste $$ on coolant or anything else , perform a compression test or block test to see if there's major damage to the motor , which there probably is .
