Question type: Maintenance & Repair

was absolutely still driving the day before, next morning, dead only clicking noise.I jump started it with spare battery, It went fine, did not do much driving. next morning, dead, took two battery's to get it going.Took it to Auto Zone nothing wrong with any one of the battery's. It seems like it starts fine next couple of times, if its not left for longer than about 30 min.longer than that it just wont start.I tried to move a dumpster, could not move it....could it have any relation? Also might have left my fog lights on for one night. But I thought it would have charged the battery again by driving?
Please any help!

does your battery light come on? you may have partially burnt out your alternator after leaving your fog lights on and letting the alternator charge the battery its self id sayreplace the alternator

well if you have access to a DVOM put it on volts DC connect it to positive and negative on the battery, with the truck off you should have between 11.5 and 12.5 volts any thing under that and you need new batteries, with the truck running any thing under 14 volts is a bad alternator

Thank you for trying to help, but I have no clue what you are saying. I am a woman and dont know much about cars. They did test the Alternator as well the battery's as at Autozone, .They said that both battery's and the Alternator was fine.

well i have a 2004.5 ram 3500, and basically i use my truck for towing and recovery and what not like that, and from jump starting cars and other diesels, eventually what would happen is my alternator would stop working and the truck would pretty much just run off the batteries. it turned on my check gauges light and my voltmeter on the clusterwas at 8. if you go in your truck and turn the key on andoff4 times with the key ending in the on position it will flash any codes that are in your trucks computer, im willing to bet you have a code for low charging voltage or some thing along those lines.
