What is the problem with my truck and how can I fix it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A few weeks back I turned my truck on and
tried to put it in reverse to leave and it
wouldn't shift into any gears 1-5 or reverse.
It would shift into gear when the truck was
off so I would start it in gear to get to work
since I work down the street from my
house. Last week truck started shifting
while running again with no problems.
Stopped shifting while running again today.
Please help!

Is that a manual transmission? If so I think your clutch has gone bad.
