Need help

Asked by 1594 Jun 23, 2019 at 10:40 PM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 dodge 1500 4x4 is over heating pretty
easily. I honestly don't know shit about mechanics.
I was told when I bought that the high gears were
starting to go and it ran fine at about 50. Now at 30
it over heats after about two miles and its drinking
oil

Overheating can be caused by several issues. Low on coolant, leaks (internal or external), clogged radiator, bad thermostat, cooling fans not running, etc. As for the oil, any noticeable leaks when parked overnight? Or is there blue smoke indicating it's burning oil.
