2001 4x4 Dodge Laramie starts good, but cannot go.

Asked by Tyjay May 06, 2010 at 06:36 PM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 4x4 Dodge Laramie; Ext. Cab. The truck can start, but when I put it in Drive it won't budge. I was driving it, when all of a sudden I couldn't accelerate. I tried giving it some gas, but it wouldn't do further.
We have had trouble with the rear axel and driveline. We tighten the driveline, but still would not move. Any solutions?

check the transmission fluid, and if it looks like motor oil you have a burned transmission and if it looks normal check the differental hub

This is a common problem with these Dodge trucks. The 2001 Dodge Transmission Governor Pressure Solenoid and Sensor have gone out and have to be replaced.. Try to order one and watch the youtube sites for more information.
