I have a 3.9 the muffler is bad. since I have to change it anyway, any suggestions for something that might help the gas mileage would be appreciated. I wouldn't balk at it being a little louder than stock as long as it was mellow.

a freer flowing exhaust would help gas mileage, because the amount of air the engine can "breath" in is directly related to the amount that it can remove through the exhaust. but to actually increase mileage by modifying the exhaust would meen high flow manifolds, high flow cats, and what not. i would just get another OEM muffler if you ask me
this is correct. a muffler wont do anything to improve mileage. you will need to do the whole works to make a difference. just replace is with oem unless you like the sound of a certain muffler.
personally if i had a 3.9V6 in my truck id want to hide that fact at all costs haha
I have a guy that will send you exhaust to your door bolt on that sounds awsome and is really great on price great guy magnumexhaust@yahoo.com>
