No spark at the coil or the plugs

I have a 96 dodge ram 1500.I had the truck given to me,the problem was that the guy had shut the truck of after a 10 min ride,and went to start it up agin 6 hrs later and wouldnt start.That was about a month ago.I have checked for fuel and it is all in working order.Ihave also check the spark and there was nun at the plugs or at the coil,so i replaced the coil and there is still no spark,my question is were and what should i look for and what to do to determine the problem.
