It takes 4 things to happen to make an engine run 1) fuel 2)spark 3)compression 4)air... before going back to the "spark" issue... have you checked if you have pressure at the fuel rail??? Unfortunately if the distributor has been removed, it can cause more than just no spark problems if reinstalled wrong. In fact, it can cut off the fuel by screwing up the injector timing (if this happens, you gotta go to someone who knows how to retime the fuel injectors). BTW...the distributor no longer controls timing...the crank sensor does. Lastly, are there any codes? have you tried spraying starter fluid down ye 'ol throttle body and crank engine?
2001 dodge ram 360/5.9L and 318 Cranks but no start. Have replaced crank sensor, cam sensor , coil, and the PCM. to little spark to start.EVERY BODY LISTEN UP. PASS THIS AROUND.A LOT OF PEOPLEHAVE THIS PROBLEM. MY CPS WENT BAD, REPLACED WITH ""NEW" crank sensor ,SO I CHANGED ALL OTHER PARTS WITH NO RESULTS. BOX STORE CPS IS JUNK, WAS TO LONG AND RUBBED FLYWHEEL RING, MAGNET WAS OPPOSITE POLE OF MOPAR CPS AND WEAK. I PAID UP $110 FOR OEM MOPAR CPS AND TRUCK STARTED AND RUNS LIKE BEFORE.MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN NEW CPS CLEAN,THERE IS A STRONG MAGNET ON END, IF IT GETS RUST FLAKES ON IT PROBABLY WONT WORK. THE CAPS IS TO STAND OUT .REMEMBER BROWN PEOPLE MATTER TOO , HELP STOP THE FAKE WARS.
