How do I get at the heat control damper?

Asked by ezzy5 Mar 08, 2008 at 06:23 PM about the 2001 GMC Jimmy

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when I adjust the temp. control knob I can not get any heat to come out of the vents.  I can get cold air to come thru the vents but it will not change to hot air.  I can hear the motor that it is trying to operate the damper but it dose not seem to move it.  How do I get at it to repair or fix it?

Yes, you may need to access under the dash as well, this can be quite a job if it is broken inside the dash area.
