Boot lid relay 2.0 litre diesel.

Asked by Jag2d Jan 08, 2018 at 08:35 AM about the 2005 Jaguar X-TYPE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My boot lid will not open using the key fob
or boot button. The solenoid moves the
latch very slightly,so power is getting to the
mechanism, but not enough to open it.
There is a clicking beneath the dashboard
on the right side, where I can expose
various relays, but I don't know which is the
boot release one,or how to replace it,if this
is in fact the cure.

Assume fixed but having the same problem, wonder what the remedy was? Mine is a 2.2D estate and intermittently the rear boot door open light comes on. After car left for a month, battery had died thanks to the boot lights under cover being on!
