the gas pump keeps shutting off when pumping gas what the problem.

that gas pump at the service station it will pump the gas in but every 30 cents it shuts off then have to restart it

I have a 2008 Ford Escape when I'm trying to put gas in it shuts off and I freeze outside in the winter because I can only put little bit to take such a long time
