Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Anti lock symbol comes on when car is running. Upon shutting down what sounds like a
fan keeps running. It does not shut off and battery has to be disabled. What would be
running after engine shut off…….antilock does not seem to apply to
brakes. Sound seems to come from passenger side under hood.

Have you checked the fuse / relay for the ABS ( antilock brake system )? The pump is located under the hood on the passenger side. It is possible the pump itself could be going bad.

If you pull the fuse the pump will stop running, that will keep it from draining the battery.
