How many catalytic converters are in a nissan titan? And if one was replaced last year, how long is the normal manufactor's warranty?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had my catalytic converter replaced last year only to be told I needed another one this year. Shouldn't it be covered under the warranty? Could you help me?

Titans have 4. One built onto each exhaust manifold and one below each of those. In canada the warranty is 8 years and 130000 km. may still be under warranty.

We are having issues with our 2009 Titan, which he fell in love with the first time he test drove it.. My husband did alot of research first with all the trucks ever made test drove all of them see what deals they can give considering we are Military. Ford was the worse even though we like there truck alot and went back and purchased the 2009 Nissan Titan with only 15 miles on it because not only did they take care of Us they also, gave my husband a huge Military discount and we paid 12 grand less on the sticker!! Well, 5 years later, he took his truck to Nissan to get diagnosis. Not one but BOTH catalytic converters went bad because of there sensors. Hubby called me and said that Nissan said that it will cost of 3 grand to replace the converters, that almost gave him a heart attack. I told him to hold on and I was going to call Nissan. I recieved a call back from a young lady who told me she would do her 'investigation' and get back to me in 3 days. Well, I got the call this morning which is the 3rd day and said no can do on helping us on the cost because we are over 2,000 miles on the warranty. My argument to her is, converters are suppose to last the lifetime of the vehicle and we can see replacing one but two with two bad senors? Doesnt make sense whatsoever. Im highly upset and her answer was," Im so sorry." No compassion nor no other offers of an options besides, your screwed. I hate Nissan and I dont like the way they do business. I was highly upset and hung up on her.

I had to replace two on my Titan as well. What I found out is the faulty fuel pump burned them out.It would sputter when gas was at quarter of a tank.Wish I had known to replace the fuel pump before that ct converters burned out, a lot cheaper. The titan would only stall when the fuel pump got hot, on trips over 100 miles so they never were able to diagnose the problem on atest drive

I bought a 2007 titan truck and the catalytic converters went bad. I was told I needed a motor. Was told the converters pushed metal pieces into the engine. The converters wasn’t covered under warranty , but the motor is. Shouldn’t Nissan honor replacing the engine? I’ll replace the converters. Unfair and crooked!

I recently bought my 06 Titan LE 4x4 with 200k+ all in well kept and maintenanced regularly. However, shortly thereafter I got the famous p0420 code too. As it turns out mine has 4 cats. The upstream bank 1 is in failure which is about $1000 alll in all. After looking around and talking to different mechanics etc.... I was referred to a shop by a good friend with a secondary reference for them as well and he suggested with all the miles that replacing 1 will work but eventually the others will likely go to so he works with a muffler shop that will gut the 2 upstream cats and replace the 2 downstream cats which will cause no codes and no issues later with performance etc.. and is legal and will cost $700. Sounds good to me. Thoughts?

remove the dang cats and have a straight pipe welded in place, depends on the state where you live. I want to do that anyway and likely improve fuel economy by 25 to 30%... and put straight pipes with free flow exhaust
