I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight and it has been acting real sluggish like it doesn't want to go it does fine on the highway but when you stop at a light or stop sign and then go it acts like it doesn't want to go. The spark plugs were changed in it and then it wouldn't start then we got a new battery and it started up then died and nothing works no lights anything. Does anyone know what could be the problem and how we could get it checked out with it not running?

Completely charge the battery and clean all the battery connections including the negative connections on the frame and motor. How long since major tune up(plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, dist cap and rotor(if applicable) ect)?

guess your sensors would be a good spot to start get you can of this and keep it on hand the air flow sensors are sensitive clean them the solenoids they're in the throttle body by the thermostat clean them then go to the exhaust side clean them cuz the air in has to match the air going out they have to balance went through this few years ago with my mass airflow but it would literally shut the car down at a stoplight running down the interstate now I make sure I clean them twice a year before winter before summer and then from there get a new fuel filter filters underneath the passenger side doors just follow your gas line will be down there probably by the passenger door rear check your injector see if they're getting fuel if there is a clog in there I told you could backtrack it from there to see where it's at so if you're not getting error code or check engine light it's going to be air fuel and probably not Spark cuz the spark when you set off your check engine light like a misfire in a cylinder it'll be a plug a wire or your coil pack you won't have a distributor or coil packs my number one send out an error code and it turned out it was a bad plug wire I just raced it back and then wire wasn't carrying current you got your fuel regulator up on the top side of the engine driver side you have your fuel relays I think those or underneath the passenger side Dash check those I know the fuel pump relays under there not sure about the other one but that's where I would start it sounds like a dirty filter good habit every time you change the oil get you a high-end system cleaner like Lucas or STP has them it makes a world of difference use a higher in stuff you know the 10 to 12 13 14 dollars a bottle it'll last you for 3000 miles if it is a fuel issue you're going to end up burning your pump up and mine went out on the road two weeks after I put a new filter in and it cost me $500 plus a full tank of gas I just have to put in it
