Car quits when a/c engaged.

Asked by samidive Jul 01, 2012 at 10:44 AM about the 1999 Saab 9-3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A/c did not work. Checked low side which was overfilled and in red zone on gauge. I released air and
freon until gauge read normal. Car stops running the moment i turn on a/c. Could it be a sensor or
something else?

Not 100% on this, but I would think you have blown you'r A/C pump... It will then use a lot of the enginees power to try to drive it when AC is ON...
