Asked by Fatemeh Sep 14, 2018 at 12:20 AM about the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So i just got a new battery fo my vw , 2005 (i think),
jetta. But again i have the same problem. It just
turns off at a red light and i have to try to turn it on.
It turns on but i cant stop much. I see this
happening more when im low on gas but it
happens other times too. Idk should i get the
batteries changed again?

I don't think the battery is causing your problem. It's not an electric motor. Have it scanned for fault codes. It might be fuel related if it happens more so on a low fuel tank. There was also a recall on the coil pack....the thing that gives the engine spark. Don't let the dealer trick you to pay for a recall. They get reimbursed by the factory. And that's the only reason to go to a VW dealer....recall and warranty work, IF there is any.
