VW beetle power windows

I have a 2003 beetle. My driver side power
window switch will not lower either of the
two windows. The passenger side power
window switch will lower and raise the
passenger side window.

Here is a strange twist. If i put the key in the driver door lock and turn it I can roll down the window using the switch. If I turn it the other way I can raise it using the switch. Any ideas?

My driver side window won’t go up unless it’s raining or I spray the outside of the window. How can that be??
