Oil pressure low

Asked by Ashlars Mar 26, 2018 at 09:39 AM about the 2003 Volkswagen Passat

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought w car with 100000+ miles on it And the oil
pressure sensor just went off and told me to "stop motor"-
other than that the car runs completley fine, and theres no
sounds, but my car smells like oil. Could this be a leak?

Well, maybe oil is leaking from the engine gaskets or some other place. Any oil marks on the floor? Have you replaced the oil sensor? Perhaps the oil lead is there.
