dash board lights

I have a 2001 VW golf 2.3 and for some inexplicable rason the dashboard lights have
failed (along with  he radio heater lights. Everything else works all indicators etc.I've
checked the fuses and both ok. Strangley the dashboard lights have come on a couple of
times for a few seconds while driving. I have also charged the main lights control and the
dimmer and beam level switch. But no luck. Any suggestions?

check the fuses in the side of your dash you most likely blew the radio or instrument panel fuse.
