My 01 Jetta won't go into reverse and I have to start in low gear to shift

I need to know the steps I should take to fix car
that has no reverse ...in all gears it will go forward
if u hit gas even in park ..I think it's limp mode but
idk if so how do I get it out of limpmode

Sounds like you have multiple problems, if reverse is actually gone then the transmission needs overhauled, it also sound like you have linkage and selector switch trouble. I think it’s time for you to take to to your favorite shop and get it checked.
