Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 Jetta. I went shopping at night and found after about an our of
shopping that I had left my head lights on.  The car started but battery light
came on for about 10 minutes  then went off. The next day my car started
fine. I drove it around for a while, then I heard three click sounds and the car
just stopped running. Left it sit for 30 minutes and then it started. Drove it
home and next day tried to drive it and it happened again. Not battery is
dead. Battery is only about a year old. What could be wrong?
