We have a 2002 S60 with around 180,000 kilometers on it. If we do the work Volvo says it needs (replace clutch and timing belt) how much longer can we expect the car to last?

if you take care of it, like any car it will last you for 300,000+ miles. DO replace the timing belt every 100,000 miles, if this breaks you will destroy your engine.

I have a T5 with 300k+ kms, work like charm, no smoke, no excessive oil consumption, great acceleration and comfort. (with proper maintenance I think it can reach 0.5-1 million kilometers without any bigger issue. Turbo probably needs repair sooner if you don't change oil/using the car at short range/stops after pushing hard, but it is still can be done without breaking the bank.
