What is the life of the 1998 Volvo S70 T5

Entirely unpredictable. Depends on history of maintenance, quality of same, if abused in past, so much more. But Volvo is a very well engineered car, more so back then in the 90's than now even. There is no real answer to your question... it could go another 20 years and 150,000 miles... or blow up tomorrow

Thanks for your advise and I know that it's not that simple to answer. I love my car that just turned 200K miles but the little things breaking down are becoming a big thing financially. She's been so good to me but I get the feeling that it's time to jump into something newer.

I could never go newer than the late 90s. I'll drive the newer cars, but they're not the same. If the car has been taken care of, it could go for another 200,000 miles. Volvos are great, long-lasting cars.

The lifespan of Volvo's are 17 years or so.. I guess a lots of it would depend on maintenance. Change your oil 3K miles or so & rotate your tires on a regular basis 7 you should be good to go for quite a while.

I beg to differ. I see older 200, 700, and 900 series 20 and 30 years old (the latter for the 200 series, and I can even go to 40 on that one) that still run and drive like new. Proper maintenance will make any car last a long time, and a Volvo last quite literally forever. We have to remember people like Irv Gordon and his '67-ish P1800 with 3 million miles on it. Proper maintenance is key!
