my 1999 mercedes SL500 convertible...I know the battery maintainer
attaches to the battery in the trunk...but how do I get the cord with the plug
out of the trunk so I can plug it into the wall in the garage(there is NO
sunroof so how do I get the cord out of the trunk so I can plug it in)?

It is no problem. Fasten the clips to the battery and carefully route the ac cord out the bottom of your trunk and plug it in to the wall or extension cord.
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer...the problem is the trunk closes automatically so won't it snap the cord(causing a potential fire??)...that is my problem
There is a rubber weather seal around the trunk. After you connect the terminals, run the cord near the bottom corner and there should be plenty of room for it to go out. Does your tender have a transformer on the end to plug in or is it a regular lamp style cord? I have Tenders on 7 cars and tractors and they all work fine.
You're so kind to help me...thank you very much....I have a battery MINDR plus(12 volt) model 1510..it has a transformer...will try to do what you told me..and thanks again
odtimer37...it worked and I thank you with all my heart...have a BLESSED day
At my age, all my days are blessed. Thank you. I am glad you were able to follow my method. Sometimes it can get confusing trying to type out how to do something. My SL is at my AL house and I was going to tell you to wait and I would take a picture of mine to show you. If you are satisfied, would you mind marking my answer helpful or best answer? Thank you.
