I have a 1973 Dodge Charger with a 400 engine. If I wanted to replace it with a better engine, without making too many other modifications, what would you recommend? Hemi? And how much would it cost?

Question type: Car Customization

If I change the engine, what recommendations do you have for the transmission, rear end, suspension and brakes?  What cost are we looking at?

Hi bigsouth17, The "Hemi" is at the pinnacle for Dodge. All Dodge owners aspire to be "Hemi" owners whether they admit to it or not. Modifications? There could be a few, but what the heck - we're talking about a "Hemi" here. Now the cost could set you back about $4,000 to $5,000 for a new motor. But just think about all of the rubber you'll burn after making the swap. Good luck!
