ok, there are a few things to check. -suspension. are both 2wd/4wd? if not you are limited there. -brakes are the lugs the same? if so use the bigger brakes (no duh!) engine- there are plenty of engines, the most common was a 2.0 and a 2.6, but there was a 2.3 diesel and a 3.0 V6. these engines are called the 4G52, 4D55, 4G54, 6G72. (2.0, 2.3, 2.6, 3.0) -transmission are both the same transmission? there was a 3 speed auto the MA904A, or, 'baby 904', a 4 speed auto i forgot the name of, the KM130 4 speed, and KM132 5 speed. you can also get a KM145 out of a 1987-1992 model, it bolts right up if same block and allows for more power with its 1/4" wider gears and redesigned layout. you can take and fab a 1/2" piece of aluminum for a flex plate and youll have a really good transmission. it is also better geared, with 3.967 1st and 2.136 2nd over the KM132's 3.369 1st and 2.035 2nd with identical 3rd 4th and 5th gears

if the bed length is the same and they are both 4x4, then you are basically set.
