how do you idle a 4 barrel carter carburetor?

i have a 1977 dodge Ramcharger and i just put on a rebuilt 4 barrel carter carburetor, the
truck will run good but dosnt stay running because its not idled,

There will be an adjustment screw, on the primary shaft( the one your throttle linkage hooks to) Adjust until your primaries just open(look into your carb)..turn the screw 1/2 additional turn, and start it up, and then fine-adjust the idle..
