Brake lights not working 2007 dodge ram 1500

Asked by Derrick2071 Nov 03, 2016 at 01:50 PM about the 2007 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I've tried everything I can think of.  2007 dodge
ram, all 3 brake lights and turn signals in rear not
working. License plate lamps, reverse lamps and
cargo lamps all working fine. Turn signals in front
and headlights are good to go. Here's what I've
done so far:
-replaced all bulbs.
-replaced all fuses for lighting.
-replaced brake light switch with a Mopar
replacement switch. I found it a bit odd that when I
put on the new switch the truck wouldn't go in
gear. The shifter was locked. Tried 2 new ones and
had the same result. I had to bypass the neutral
safety switch to get home.
-I've wedged the pedal and wiggled every inch of
wiring and never was able to locate a short.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

I do know that the brake light switch has a black switch on it. If it is not switched, then the truck won't go into drive.

Derrick, did you figure out the problem? I’m having the same issue with my 07 Ram 1500. Tried everything including resetting the TIPM.
