Have a 2007 dodge ram 1500 and it runs fine while
driving but if im just idling for a good while the
temp gauge starts to move to the hot side. Any

Are the fans working? If so do a compression check and test for exhaust in coolant to rule out a head gasket failure. Also check for bad hoses, sticky thermostat, low coolant level, look or listen for a boiling sounds from coolant resevoir (exhaust in coolant in large amounts). Steam from tailpipe (Gasket('s) bad).
